October Kings began in 2021 at a UKZN residence, where students born in October threw a party to celebrate their birthdays. By 2022, the event gained popularity among UKZN Westville students and was officially named “October Kings” by Sandah_m. In 2023, the team moved the event outside of the student residences, attracting an even larger crowd and solidifying its place as one of Durban’s most recognized annual student events. Today, October Kings is a major fixture in Durban’s entertainment scene, known for its high-energy atmosphere and massive turnout.
